It all started when I was asked if I wanted to join my friends for a Paragliding experience that my friend’s husband wanted to do for his 70th birthday. I instantly said yes, booked and paid then looked at what I’d actually signed up for – yikes, terrifying!

So to give me some Dutch courage, I thought getting some sponsors would stop me losing my nerve. Johnny’s charity was the perfect choice.

Finally on the 3rd weekend of waiting for the wind to cooperate, 3 of us (of quite advancing years!) and a selection of creaky joints headed to Long Mynd in Shropshire to fly. Our pilots with Shropshire Paragliding were brilliant and made us feel very safe. The views were fabulous and it was an amazing experience.
