Laxton Junior School – Fundraising Events 2024/5

We were proud and very honoured when Laxton Junior School in Oundle asked us if the Johnny Reynolds Foundation could be their recognised charity for the school year.

What an exciting year they have had with a huge variation of fun events to make donations towards Johnny’s charity.  Imagine our pride with Johnny being an ex pupil of LJS and starting his school years there.

The year started with Kate visiting the school for an assembly to share with the staff and pupils why we had set up the Foundation and its aims and ambitions.

After some lovely comments from the school they quickly got into gear with a huge variety of events to include all pupils and staff.

A ‘wear your favourite sports kits’ to school for the day resulted in some fantastic different sports kit on show, from gymnastics to skiing, judo to American football, riding to football and of course varying rugby strips!

A dog show incorporating dog agility stakes was next.  Very well supported by staff and pupils alike, with a multitude of dog breeds – some more behaved than others!  A working cocker spaniel won Best in Show.

There was also a ‘have a go at sports afternoon’ featuring a parents and staff tag rugby game. The whole school was involved with different aspects of sport, meaning all could take part – some of which in sports they hadn’t ever experienced.  The tag rugby inevitably became rather competitive with an increasing tempo of play as confidences rose (some rather sore bodies the morning after!).

The donations keep flowing from LJS – the fun they have had fundraising is infectious and we are sincerely grateful.
