Kettering Half Marathon & 5k Run, 8th March 2026

A chilly but bright and dry day brought the Kettering ½ marathon and 5k run again. Once again, many Johnny Reynolds Foundation (JRF) red t-shirts gathered for the start in Wicksteed Park. Lots of nervous chattering and happy giggling amongst family and friends as start times loomed…

The ½ marathon runners set off first to run around Kettering town before speeding out towards Boughton Park, Grafton, Cranford, Barton Seagrave and back into Wicksteed – a hilly, challenging 13 miles. Many friends achieving personal bests and vowing to come back next year to better their times.

Among these was our next ‘Kipchoge’ Charlie Reynolds on his first ½ marathon who completed magnificently in his ‘veteran rugby playing gait’ in his aim of sub 3 hours…just.

Delighted but quite weary he returns next year to better his time.

Meanwhile many red Johnny t shirts sprinted, jogged, and chatted their way around the 5k run, all completing admirably.

Once again large amounts of money donated to the runners to the JRF – we are, as ever, incredibly grateful all those who sponsored us!
