The Johnny Reynolds Foundation & The Mintridge Foundation “Give Rugby A Go Day” 2025 – Oundle Rugby Club

On Sunday 20th July 2025, the Johnny Reynolds Foundation and the Mintridge Foundation hosted an amazing ‘Give Rugby A Go’ Day at Oundle Rugby Club, with the support of the brilliant Poppy Cleall (Saracens & England Rugby) and Charlotte Fray (Sale Sharks). Despite the typically British wet weather, the event was a huge success with lots of rugby played and fun had by all.

The day began with coaching for Oundle’s junior girls, who threw themselves into the session despite the rain. Guided by both Poppy and Charlotte, the girls learned new skills, gained confidence and even tackled a rugby-style assault course. Each player left with a medal, autograph and photo, fuelling their enthusiasm to get involved in the sport long-term. Between sessions, everyone gathered indoors for an engaging talk from Poppy and Charlotte, who shared their respective personal journeys in rugby, further inspiring both players and supporters alike. Later, Oundle’s women’s team took to the field for a dynamic session full of teamwork, laughter, and even try-scoring debuts for several newcomers! The day highlighted rugby’s inclusive, empowering nature for players of all ages and abilities. Last but not least, the event finished with a BBQ (in the rain!) – a fitting end to a fabulous day of rugby, friendship and fun.
